Sugar producers, Brett and Steve McKeering, from the banks of the Pioneer River at Mirani 35Km West of Mackay discuss their next move for their fallow soybean crop with industry experts Steve Newbery and Ian Faulkner.

The nitrogen contribution from the beans will greatly reduce the volume of nitrogen fertiliser they require for the coming cane crop, as well as providing valuable organic matter to the soil.

Combining this fallow practise with some Katek products at planting allows farmers to increase productivity and improve soil health, while at the same time reducing their impact on the environment.
